Welcome Homer: Frank Ocean‘s newly announced independent American luxury brand.
Designed in New York and handmade in Italy, the brand has already unveiled its first collection, which will include a sleek selection of printed silk scarves and a selection of high and fine jewelry pieces, made with 18K gold, recycled sterling silver, hand-painted enamel and American lab-grown diamonds.
The designs, which are said to be inspired by “childhood obsessions” and “heritage as a fantasy,” lean into a playful-yet-sophisticated demeanor — some jewelry offerings opt for colorful iterations of child-like toys, while others appeal to a refined eye with bands of gold and silver. Meanwhile, silk scarves employ the full color wheel, mixing contrasting hues — cadmium red with lobster blue, clover with infrared and acid yellow with chet blue, to name a few — atop a signature, graphic pattern.
Why the name Homer? According to a press release, the moniker “represents carving history into stone.”
While several of the label’s pendants and accessories are listed for under $1,000 USD, the Sphere Legs High Jewelry Necklace, which enlists an opulent frost of brilliant pavé-set diamonds, is the ultimate stand-out, and can be yours for $1.89 million USD.
The full collection can be viewed in a 160-page catalog, pictured above, which was designed and shot by Ocean, himself.
“Hand on my heart, this project has kept my mind moving and my imagination turning throughout it all,” Ocean wrote in an Instagram Story, before dedicating the brand to his family. “This is three years in the making and there is so so much I’m excited to share with you all strangers.”
In order to see the collection, interested customers must either make an appointment to visit Homer’s Manhattan outpost above the New York Jewelers exchange, which is scheduled to open on Monday, August 9, or request a catalog on Homer’s website.
