MDF Tent, an exploration of the limits of habitability

Barcelona, 2022
Any relationship between individuals needs material support to carry it out. The proposal explores the material limits to understand space as "habitable".

To this end, the system of tensegrity structures is investigated, a very common resource in spaces that, given their temporary nature or lack of means, need to optimize material expenditure and achieve a minimally habitable place.

The proposal provides a new version of these structures, combining them with MDF (medium-density fibreboard): a material whose properties can be used as a floor, wall, or ceiling.

Finally, while the MDF construction ensures minimum water tightness and wind protection, a central chimney provides the necessary thermal control to make this structure habitable.
