While Barber Osgerby’s partnership with Galerie kreo dates back to 2016, Signals is the studio’s first solo exhibition for the gallery. Comprising floor, wall and pendant lamps, Signals takes as its defining gesture the cone, which is a recurring motif throughout Barber Osgerby’s body of work. In the way it draws on the studio’s preferred hybrid of ‘engineered craft’ - the alliance of the uncompromisingly industrial with the uncompromisingly artisanal - the project is also expressive of Barber Osgerby’s commitment to ‘working in the space between the sketch and the machine’.
